Attica is one of the world’s oldest wine-producing regions. Wine was central to social life and worship – especially in honor of Dionysus, Attica, a land of ancient vineyards and enduring myth, offers one of Greece’s driest, sunniest climates – ideal for viticulture. In its northern hills lies Lake Marathon, an iconic landmark known worldwide for its name and legacy. Beyond the historical symbolism of the area, the lake plays a vital climatic role: acting as a natural regulator and ally. It is here that we established Oenotria Land and the Wine Museum- Costa Lazaridi.
The Organic
Vineyard
Our organic vineyard lies on the shores of Lake Marathon.The lake serves as a natural temperature regulator, while the cool winds and humidity preserve freshness and balance in the vines. Certified organic by DIO, our vineyards are cultivated with full respect for the land, relying solely on nature’s rhythm.
In this historic terroir, we continue a legacy of crafting expressive and structured wines that reflect the soul of Attica, the vision and philosophy of Costa Lazaridi. Our focus is on the terroir, carefully selecting plots that best express its character, a philosophy that is faithfully reflected in our wines.

Winery
It is in this historic land that we established our second, boutique winery, inspired by the myth of Oenotrus, son of King Lycaon, said to be the first Greek to colonize southern Italy and introduce winemaking to its shores. Seeking a similar journey, we set out from Drama to create our own “Oenotria Land” in Attica.
Our winemaking follows a philosophy of gentle intervention, with soft extractions that yield fresh wines with silky tannins from the sun-drenched, dry-farmed Attica land. Small conical tanks allow each plot to be vinified separately, capturing the essence of its terroir. Aging takes place in a thoughtful balance of concrete, wooden casks, amphorae, and a touch of new oak, adding depth and complexity. Here, in our gravity-flow winery, we craft our distinguished and internationally recognized wines.
